Cutting boards have been around forever, and many have mechanically cut the wood in various ways to create mechanical patterns.

We take this a step further and use 'natural' grain and other transitions to create special patterns.  Most of these started out as interesting variations or accidents but now with some diligence we can really get some interesting patterns.
